Timothy Vece Back

Associate Professor of Pediatrics, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, USA

Dr Vece is a specialist in rare childhood lung diseases with an interest in Children’s interstitial lung disease (chILD). He did his pediatrics training at Emory University in Atlanta and did his pediatric pulmonology training at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital.  He is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.  He has a particular interest in immune-based lung diseases in children and has published multiple articles, review papers, and book chapters including being part of a team of researchers that identified the first known genetic cause of familial pulmonary hemorrhage syndromes. He is involved in the development of training resources and recommendations for new pediatric pulmonologists through the American Thoracic Society. His ongoing work focuses on understanding the underlying causes of chILD and PCD, which is key to the development of new management and therapeutic strategies.
